An evaluation suite that only produces a dashboard is a suggestion. An evaluation suite wired into the release process is a decision. The difference is whether a failing score can actually stop a deploy.

A gate, not a chart

When eval thresholds gate the pipeline, three things change:

  1. The bar is set before the work, not negotiated after it.
  2. A regression blocks the release automatically — no one has to be the bad guy.
  3. The evidence travels with the change, so anyone can see why it shipped.

What the team sees

The point of making scores visible is not transparency for its own sake. It is that a shared, enforced bar removes the quiet pressure to ship on a good feeling. The model clears the threshold, or it waits.
